culture through cuisine
what we do
GUES is Georgetown University's first society dedicated to learning about different cultures through food. We host restaurant, on-campus, and social impact events for our members, and all our events revolve around cultural foods, eating, socializing, and community service.

GUES’ classic event: a big group meal (we coordinate with the restaurant to choose a menu prior) followed by a Q&A + conversation with the head chef or owner of the restaurant! These are incredible opportunities to learn about the behind-the-scenes of all your favorite D.C. spots, and GUES hosts several each month.
-
Exactly what the name sounds like! Members can sign up for dinner, and they don’t know who they’re going with until they show up at the gates. It’s a great way to get to know new people, all while trying great restaurants with reservations made for you by the GUES outreach team.
-
Nobody brunches like GUES. For most big Georgetown events (think Homecoming, St. Patty’s Day, Georgetown Day, etc.), you can bet that GUES is hosting a potluck brunch with mimosas or borgs on us. Wake up, smell the roses, enjoy the spread, and start your day in the best way possible.
-
Every month, a GUES board member will host a few members in their homes and make one of their favorite recipes with them! Bond with other members, learn some new techniques, and enjoy a delicious meal.
